Description JCFS Chicago is looking for you, a Clinical Supervisor to directly supervise clinical staff through individual, group, and reflective supervision, to support the administrative needs of the department, and provide clinical services to an assigned caseload of clients. The Virginia Frank Child Development Center is a nationally recognized pioneer in the field of family-centered child development. We offer a continuum of therapeutic and preventative services for children and families, along with early childhood mental health consultation and training for professionals. RESPONSIBILITIES: Employee Supervision

  • Supervises and evaluates the case management and clinical treatment approaches of the professional clinical staff assigned as direct reports.
  • Lead, coach, mentor and instruct clinical staff by providing orientation and ongoing training.
  • Makes recommendations for continuing or terminating employment of professional clinical staff.
  • Assumes full responsibility for the treatment of clients under their supervisees' care.
  • Leads weekly group supervision for clinical staff.
  • Leads monthly consultation for internal and external parties on clinical work with families and young children.
    Administrative
    • Performs record keeping functions and other administrative duties as required by the Agency, including written treatment documentation within the required timeframes.
    • With the Director and Assistant Director, screens/coordinates intakes and assigns new and transfer cases to professional clinical staff.
    • Oversees administrative tasks related to assigned cases, i.e. case records, quality audits, case staffings, and case consultations.
    • Oversees administrative tasks related to therapy group offerings, determining group leader assignments and supporting the process of intake and assessment for the groups.
    • May provide services and billing under Medicaid Rule 132 as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) or Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts (LPHA), dependent on qualifications.
      Mental Health Therapy
      • Provides full range of clinical treatment duties for a caseload of clients, which may include individual adult, child, family, couple and group treatment modalities.
      • Within the context of critical thinking, gathers and analyzes data, completes assessments and formulates treatment plans, and implements specified treatment for routine and complex cases.
      • Develops and implements a discharge and transition plan for the client and family, when nearing completion of services.
        Program Support
        • Interprets Agency programs to other community agencies or groups.
        • May provide Field Instruction to students.
        • Participates in agency staff development programs, professional group seminars, committees or conferences to increase professional knowledge.
        • Helps develop and refine program policies and procedures.
        • Collaborates with other agency personnel, supervisor, appropriate specialists or consultants on specific case related problems and participates in weekly supervision.
          Requirements
          • Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field for an accredited college
          • Clinical state licensure in the clinician's discipline, e.g. LCSW preferred.
          • Four or more years of direct clinical practice.
          • Three or more years of post-clinical license experience preferred.
          • Supervisory or administrative experience required.
          • Able to work evenings based on client and program needs.
          • Proficient in Microsoft Office
          • As this position requires visits to locations which may or may not be accessible by public transportation, must be able to drive, have a valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle to travel in the Chicago metropolitan area.

            • Compensation: The minimum compensation for this position is $70,000 annually (final offer will be based on experience).
